Jamaican Fried Dumpling

This recipe makes approximately 24 dumplings


  1. 4 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1 cup cornmeal
  3. ½ cup sugar
  4. 1 ½ cups water
  5. 2 table spoon baking powder
  6. ½ tea spoon salt
  7. 1 ½ cups vegetable oil


  1. Combine all dry ingredients and hand mix

  1. Add water gradually and hand knead to form a firm dough

  1. Pour cooking oil in frying pan, turn temperature gauge on “High”, and preheat for about 1-2 minutes
  2. Once preheated, turn gauge to “Medium”
  3. Use your palms to roll dough into balls approximately 2 inches in diameter
  4. Fry in frying pan until golden brown on all sides (Note: if the center of the dough is too gummy or jelly-like, the dumplings are not fully cooked)


  1. Serve warm
